Levels/Tiers

A Tier I team is a team that plays in either MLS Next (boys) or GA (girls).  A Tier II team is a team that plays in either NAL (boys) or Aspire (girls).  A Tier III team is a team that plays in a league like National 1 or OSSL (or similar league).  A Tier IV team is a team that plays in a local league like COPL.

Schedule

• U13/U14 Tier I teams have a ten month schedule (August - May) and U15-U18/U19 Tier I teams have a seven month schedule (November - May).  Playoffs may extend the schedule into June and/or July.
• U13/U14 Tier II teams have a ten month schedule (August - May) and U15-U18/U19 Tier II teams have a seven month schedule (November - May).  Playoffs may extend the schedule into June and/or July.
• U13/U14 Tier III teams have a ten month schedule (August - May) and U15-U18/U19 Tier III team have a seven month schedule (November - May).  
• U13/U14 Tier IV teams have a seven month schedule (August - October and February - May) and U15-U18/U19 Tier IV teams have a six month schedule (November - May with off in January).  ​​​

Training Location/Practice Days

We have a number of training and game locations for our teams and where will depend on the tier.  Tier IV teams will be community based and practice in their community.  Tier I-III teams will use a combination of outdoor facilities ranging from Kilbourne Run, Jenning Sports Park, Ohio Dominican University and Harvest Prep. Others may be added as they become available and any activity inside may be at any one of the numerous facilities we have access to over the course of the club year.

Events

At the U13 - U17 ages, there will be five events (this will be a combination of league mandated events and third party events). At the U18/U19 ages, there will be four events (this will be a combination of league mandated events and third party events). Ala cart event fees will range from $45 - $100/event and will be billed separately at the time of such event.   Ala cart event fees are only refundable to the extent a refund is received from the event.

One or two Tier I/II events may require plane travel (such decisions will be dependent on where league mandated events are).

Additional Benefits

T3 Performance will deliver speed and strength programs to all players. Sporting Columbus athletes will receive programming specific to soccer athletes, with age and season accounted for.

Uniforms

For the 2026-2027 season, boys will be in new adidas kits.  As such, all players will need to order a full kit. For the 2026-2027 season, girls will be in capelli kits.  As such, new players will need to order a full kit and returning Columbus United players will order based on need.

Uniform orders are placed online. After you pay your deposit, you will recieve an instruction e-mail regarding the uniform process.  This will start around June 15. 

As we are entering a year with major player additions either via partnerships with other clubs or new players interested in our new platforms, uniform numbers will be randomly assigned.  Tier I Players will be assigned a number between 0-25, tier II players will be assigned a number between 26 – 50 and tier III and beyond players will be assigned numbers 50 and higher. 

Placement, Acceptance and Registration Process

Team offers will be rolling and begin the week of that genders' tryouts.  Offers will first be sent via email.  Only players that have signed up for Tryouts will receive an offer.  When necessary, phone calls will be made as a follow up. To accept the offer, please follow the instructions in the e-mail.  Without the electronic acceptance and deposit, your player’s spot may be offered to another player, even if you have verbally committed to your coach. Roster spots are available until the roster is filled.
